A New Baby is the Beginning of All Things...

Children's abilities vary during the early years of their lives, so it's important to find an infant care program that can adapt to your child's individual needs. Our infant room provides a peaceful and compassionate setting with toys and equipment thoughtfully selected to build a strong developmental foundation throughout their first year of life. Our caregivers form individualized relationships with our parents and grow strong attachments with your baby.

Our Goals in the Infant Program

Infants may start care at six weeks of age and transition into the toddler program when each child is developmentally ready, but typically prior to 18 months. Infant room ratio is 4 infants : 1 provider. This program will entail:

  • An individual schedule that is based on your baby's needs
  • Daily updates on your baby that you receive in real time via the app BRIGHTWHEEL
  • Your choice of iron-fortified formula provided for the first year (up until age one)
  • All jarred food pouches/oatmeal/snacks provided once you introduce solids
  • Open door policy for breast feeding (while following COVID protocols)
  • Access to books and story time
  • Music and singing
  • Designated outdoor infant playground
  • Walks when seasonally appropriate
  • Developmentally appropriate sensory experiences
  • Regularly switching out toys that offer different texture/manipulatives/visual experiences
  • Offering two parent teacher conferences yearly, though our teachers are available for any concerns that arise

When you place your child in our care, we begin a portfolio for each child shortly after their enrollment that serves as a tool to track their development and progress in reaching milestones. We complete quarterly assessments using the Maine Roads to Quality Infant and Toddler Guidelines.
