Our preschool embodies a number of rotating fun themes and activities that focus on a variety of new subjects and materials each month. We like to follow an emergent curriculum with a schedule that provides predictability but also gives us the flexibility to focus on the children's interests, skills, and learning in the moment. Our schedule provides time and support for transition, both indoor and outdoor learning experiences while also being responsive to the child's need to rest or be active.
Preschool Programs
The preschool is divided into two programs, the undergraduates and the gradates. Our undergrad program is for children ages three to four years old and geared towards the early fundamentals of academics. Our graduate program is designed to introduce and replicate the structure of a classroom setting the year before your child enters kindergarten. The preschool classroom ratio is 10 children : 1 provider.

When you place your child in our care, we begin a portfolio for each child shortly after their enrollment that serves as a tool to track their development and progress in reaching milestones. We complete quarterly assessments using the Maine Roads to Quality Guidelines.

Miss Ashleigh F.
Ashleigh is the lead teacher in preschool "graduates" classroom and has 11 years of childcare experience. She holds her associates degree in early childhood education. She has been with Milestones since September 2019.
